CHARACTER
Overlooking the River Boyne in the lush Boyne Valley, and near the site of the famous battle, Slane Castle is one of Ireland’s most important stately homes. Dating back to 1785 in its present form, its architecture and parklands feature the work of luminaries such as Gandon, Wyatt, Johnston, Hopper and Capability Brown. This is a regal location, defined by its sumptuous carpets and furnishings, majestic rooms and spectacular views.
The magnificent Main Hall, with its stained glass and delicate plasterwork is ideal for welcome receptions. The Ballroom is an intimate banqueting venue, with marble statues and stunning neo-gothic ceiling, while on the top floor of the castle, the Burton Hall and Phoenix Room combine to create an award-winning and extensive dining space. Together, the elegantly pillared Gandon room and Browne’s Bar form a conference and meeting centre with its own separate entrance.
