killruddery house

LOCATION

Bray, Co Wicklow, half-an-hour from Dublin.

CHARACTER

A French-style wrought-iron gate and granite forecourt give way to the leafy surrounds of Killruddery House and Gardens, a stunning setting for any event. This Elizabethan-Revival mansion is still a private home and its 17th century gardens are the oldest surviving example of their kind in Ireland.

With intricate walks, rose and lavendar gardens, magnificent twin canals, fountains and a sylvan theatre, the gardens provide a spectacular backdrop to The Orangery, a glass structure designed in the fashion of London's Crystal Palace and the centrepiece of this venue. A collection of Italian marble statues grace this light-filled space, while tucked away in the oldest corners of the house, the Library proudly boasts a set of Chippendale bookcases.
