LOCATION
In the heart of Dublin city, near Heuston Station.
CHARACTER
Built in 1702, this landmark building - the oldest purpose-built barracks in Europe - is home to the Decorative Arts and History collection of the National Museum of Ireland.
From the magnificent Clarke Square at the centre of the complex, guests enter the museum’s impressive Foyer, a spacious and inviting evening venue for cocktails, launches and recitals. The Palatine Room is situated on the first floor, its tall Georgian windows overlooking the square below. This newly renovated function room features two fine Kilkenny marble fireplaces, a richly restored parquet floor and a state-of-the-art kitchen. The complex also contains a purpose-built audiovisual theatre.
Collins Barracks sits on an eighteen acre site with free car parking and a dedicated LUAS stop on the red tram line.
